Abrigo

Credit risk suite

Abrigo sells commercial underwriting as Sageworks Credit Risk Software, which spreads borrower financials, computes global cash flow, applies risk rating methods and generates standardized credit memos with the risk rating documentation behind them. AI assistants including Lending Assistant were announced available in September 2025, while the newer APX agentic platform was promised for general availability in the third quarter of 2026 and carried no availability notice when that quarter ended.

What it is

Abrigo's commercial credit product is Sageworks Credit Risk Software, and it is the most completely documented credit workflow in this category. The product page names the steps individually: spread borrower financials to compute global cash flow and benchmark against industry peers, apply single, dynamic and comprehensive risk rating methods to identify problem loans early, generate standardized credit memos with risk rating documentation and supporting reports, price the loan against cost of funds, and run loan administration and review through configurable workflow templates. Sageworks Lending Software covers the origination side of the same relationship. On AI, Abrigo is one of two vendors here with a real availability date: Lending Assistant, which extracts key data, drafts loan narratives and validates documents, was announced as available in September 2025 alongside AskAbrigo, Loan Review Assistant, AML Assistant and the Allowance Narrative Generator. The agentic platform its current marketing leads with, Abrigo APX, is a different matter. It was announced on 8 July 2026 as expected to be generally available for lending in the third quarter of 2026, and no general-availability notice had appeared on abrigo.com by 30 September 2026, the last day of that quarter. Two other facts belong in any evaluation. The company rebranded from Sageworks to Abrigo in 2019 and still sells under the Sageworks name on live 2026 product URLs, and its contact page lists a Raleigh, North Carolina office as its headquarters alongside an Austin, Texas office.

What it does

  • Spreading, global cash flow and peer benchmarking named as one automated sequence rather than three modules to ask about
  • Risk rating documentation produced alongside the credit memo, which is what a loan review file needs
  • Loan pricing against cost of funds inside the same suite that holds the credit analysis
  • Five named AI assistants with dedicated product pages and a stated availability date of September 2025
  • Configurable workflow templates driving loan administration and annual review, not just origination

Strengths

  • The deepest verified commercial credit feature set on this site: spreading, global cash flow, risk rating, standardized credit memo, loan pricing and loan administration each have their own documented page
  • Explicitly sold to community banks and credit unions in Abrigo's own words, which is the clearest target-market statement any vendor here makes
  • One of only two vendors in this category with a named AI capability carrying an availability date rather than present-tense marketing
  • Publishes its own private equity investors, Accel-KKR and Carlyle, which is unusual and makes ownership checkable

Considerations

  • APX, the agentic platform the marketing now leads with, was promised for general availability for lending in the third quarter of 2026 and carried no availability notice on abrigo.com when that quarter ended on 30 September 2026
  • Product naming is split between the corporate brand and the Sageworks product names still live on 2026 URLs, which complicates an RFP, a contract and a support call
  • Eight or more acquired products sit underneath the suite with no published documentation of how deeply they are integrated
  • Its investors page names Accel-KKR and Carlyle without stating which is the majority holder

Best when

You want the spread, the risk rating, the memo and the annual review to come from one system and one contract.

Abrigo FAQ

Is Abrigo APX available?

Not as of 30 September 2026. The July 2026 launch release said APX was expected to be generally available for lending in the third quarter of 2026, and the APX product page carried no availability statement when that quarter ended, only a demo request. The five assistants announced in September 2025, including Lending Assistant and AskAbrigo, are a separate and better-evidenced set.

Why does Abrigo still sell products called Sageworks?

The company rebranded to Abrigo in 2019 but kept the Sageworks product names, and Sageworks Credit Risk Software and Sageworks Lending Software are still the live product URLs in 2026. Ask which name appears on the order form, the contract and the support portal, because all three matter later.

Where is Abrigo headquartered?

Raleigh, North Carolina. Abrigo's contact page lists a Raleigh office labelled Headquarters at 5444 Wade Park Boulevard, Suite 400, and an Austin, Texas office at 12331-B Riata Trace Parkway, and its releases carry Raleigh datelines.
